Goal

This year I want to promote and support many of my favorite charities. Some of these will be personally important, some will be timely based on world events and some may be groups I discover over this year of giving. I hope by creating this blog, donating my daily $5.00 and bringing attention to the cause, I can change the world in a good way. Please consider following my lead by making a donation to any of the groups that resonate with you.

Coral Reef Research Foundation

The Coral Reef Research Foundation (CRRF) is a non-profit organization (501(c)(3)) incorporated in the State of California and the Republic of Palau whose purposes are to increase knowledge of coral reefs and other tropical marine environments to allow intelligent conservation and management decisions. CRRF was founded in 1991 by a group of marine biologists as a vehicle to increase our understanding of the species, dynamics and interrelationships of marine environments and their relationship to man. As such we do both basic and applied marine research, with special emphasis on species diversity work, collection for biomedical screening, environmental monitoring, reef fish spawning biology, and innovative development of new techniques for marine research work. Our research programs are oriented towards the following areas, (1) dynamics of the marine environment as it relates to conservation decisions, (2) limits of species diversity, community distribution and biogeography, and (3) monitoring with respect to short to long-term environmental and climate changes. Our research has been made possible by support from organizations both within and outside Palau and has resulted in numerous scientific publications since 1991.
